One button with multiple functions? Or multiple buttons?

Hello! I can't tell you how much I have learned from all of you.
I need your help again thinking through this...I am still working on a map for students. I would like to have a "hint" or "help" button that a student could click to have one of the countries on the map automatically label itself. I have set up the labels by using a state change called "help" and I thought I could use multiple help buttons on top of one another and assign each a country but I didn't think through how if all of the buttons were layered on one another it would work. I would like to use just one "help" button since the page is a bit overwhelming already with the map and the labels.
Thank you for any insight you can provide!

Hi,
Before it gets complicated, you could try the method you tried, so stacking up buttons underneath each other. Then on click, you make the assigned country label appear + you change the state of that particular button to hidden. That way the button goes away, showing you the next one in line. Do that for every button, and you're sorted!
I know this is not exactly what you are looking for but here is an example of a simple map, with two countries (France and Germany) having rollover states. You can also click these countries to display a lightbox. This was done with transparent objects.
You can always share your .story file here.
You guys are awesome! I'm starting to get the logic of storyline but sometimes I need other brains to help me think through! Let me see what I can do and be back...
