One for the Storyline techies - development history
Sep 07, 2017
Recently I was asked to hand over the .story files of a company I work for to another development company and it occurred to our boss that a developer history might be found in a part of the .story file, by way of a serial number or a registration "echo" portion of the files code. I was asked if that code information could be tracked down in the .story file and stripped out. I know that a .story is just a renamed .zip file and I could probably use reshacker to go through the files to find that information and strip it out. But is this something someone has tried so I could speed up the process.
Or am I barking up the wrong tree and there is no such info in the files.
I'd like it to be the later so I don't have to spend my time digging.
Cheers in advance.
Luke

I doubt there is something in there
Thanks Phil,
There seems to be, after a simple inspection of the .story changed to a .zip in one file an xml from memory, a piece of code looking like a blob image. It could be the license info in bitmap form.
I will need to dig deeper.
Cheers
Hi Luke,
Nothing official that I know of - good luck in your search and keep us posted.
