Open Engange files with Storyline

Oct 31, 2013

Hi,

I have another question: The reason why we as a company bought Articulate is the one that other countries already use Articulate and we wanted to exchange files and work together on several projects. Now we got the file where one of our colleagues will not be able to work on anymore. She has created the file in Engage and we work with Storyline. Unfortunately I was not able to open her Engage files. How comes? I think especially with our newer full-version it must be possible to open files of the older Engange version?!

thanks for letting me know how the solution could look like.

best regards,

Silke

Hi Silke,

Engage and Storyline are separate products, and I'm not certain which licenses you have. If you're colleague has created a file in Engage that you would like to be able to edit, you'd also need to have Engage installed on your computer. Even if you'd like to import an Engage file into Storyline, as you'll see described here:

  • To import Engage interactions into Storyline, you must have Articulate Engage '09 installed on your computer and activated with a valid serial number.

If you've recently purchased Studio 13 Pro, Engage 13 would have also been included. You can follow Mike's directions here on how to insert Engage 13 into Storyline.

If you  have a file created in Engage 09 that you're trying to open within Engage 13, you should be prompted with a message to upgrade the file, and that it'll save a backup copy of your original. If you're not able to open them at all, are you able to share your Engage file with our Support team?
