Optional exit button

Nov 10, 2020

Hi there! I have a large terminology course that I have designed to branch into three parts.

So far, that works fine. Each user can select which board they want to review from the table of contents, jump to that story, then jump back or exit if they want to.

I am trying to program an optional exit button on the table of contents that shows when a user revisits the table, but not before. I have seen similar threads, but I must be missing a step.

see a screenshot of the concept i am trying to capture.

Hi Pete,

In the attached example, I have created an Exit Course button that has an initial state of Hidden. Each time the timeline starts on the menu slide, it checks to see if any of the three Option buttons are in the Visited state and, if they are, it changes the state of the Exit button to Normal.

If you look at the trigger for the Exit button, you will see that it changes state if Option 1 is Visited OR if Option 2 is Visited OR if Option 3 is Visited. If you want the user to visit all three options before being able to exit the course, simply change the OR to AND in each case.

Hope this helps, but if you have any further queries, just get back to me here.
