Organize Adobe Edge and Articulate folders

Jul 07, 2015

Hi,
I'm doing a major elearning course (2142 slides) and working with Adobe Edge and Articulate. I'm using Edge because I'm in need of very specific animations and Articulate can insert web objects very well.

However, do anyone have a tip for me how to organize it in folders because I need to move the whole project to several shared backup folders.
Do I need to go in to every 2142 slides and relink it everytime I do a backup or does everything follow when I move it?

Appreciate help thanks!

Hi Emelie,

That's a lot of slides! How are you linking to the Edge examples? To a URL as a web object? If so - no need to relink them - as long as the URL stays the same it'll carry into the  Storyline files even if you make copies of the .story files. Just ensure you're working on local project files as described here, working off a network or shared drive can cause unexpected behavior.

Hi Emelie,

Well you'll want to save locally first - and then if you need to create a back up copy to a shared disk that would be ok. Everyone will want to download the files to their local drive to work on them, as I mentioned working off a shared drive can be problematic.  If the Edge project is saved to your drive vs. being a web based output - then you would need to relink them as the file path will have changed.
