Other language font support?

Jan 08, 2015

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm not sure why certain Adobe fonts that were made for other languages are only displaying in English? For instance, Adobe Arabic, Adobe Hebrew, Adobe Ming. How do I get these to display as the language they were designed for? They only display in English currently. Is it an Adobe thing? Thanks.

Hi Jesse,

Not a stupid question at all - I don't have any of those fonts, but the only one I have that references another language is "simplified arabic" - and I can apply that to English text, and it won't change the language, but once I copy and paste some Arabic text in, that displays in the font too. I may be misunderstanding. Do those fonts work in Word? If not, I wouldn't expect them to work in Storyline.

Do these fonts display properly in other applications on your PC? This may be apparent but you need to have the proper languages turned on in your PC settings to be able to input other languages, e.g., just using a Japanese font, for example, will not output Japanese characters if you don't have a Japanese input method (keyboard) activated. For example if I type "nihon" using a Japanese font with Japanese input activated it will display as 日本. If the Japanese input isn't activated it will just show as roman characters "nihon".
