Overlapping hotspots in a video placed at different timepoints in a timeline

Jul 13, 2021

Hi all, I hope someone can help me. I am using Storyline 360.

I have placed 3 overlapping hotspots in a video (see screenshot). Each timed to be triggered at different timepoints in the timeline(see screenshot). The purpose of this timed hotspot is to make the learner click on the screen when they recognise risk factors in the video. Each hotspot will then trigger a specific quiz layer. For example Hotspot 1 will trigger Quiz 1; and so on.

The current issue I have now is that despite timing the hotspots differently, only Hotspot 1/Quiz 1 works in all the timelines.

Note:

1. My triggers are all correct. I've checked many times now.

2. I added cue points but I can't make it work.

Is this issue because my hotspots are overlapping? Any tips please?

I'm very suspicious of these triggers:

It's a lot more predictable to Hide this layer, than it is to jump to the same slide., especially if you have it set to automatically decide on revisit.

Also, I covered hotspot 1 with a transparent cover (I left an outline on it, so you can find it.) It starts hidden, and shows when the exit button is clicked on the correct answer. That keeps the learner from clicking hotspot1 again while it is active, if they have already answered correctly.

Making those changes to the quiz 1 layers makes it bring up quiz 2,

Hmmm...it sounds like I have a similar issue.

I have three hotspots at different cue points on a SL 360 timeline for a video. I'd like users to click the hotspots when prompted by narration in the video and jump to a URL. The hotspots fade out when the screen no longer prompts them to click.

None of the hotspots work or even given me an indication there's something to click (the hand over the hotspot).

And why am I still seeing the other hotspots when they shouldn't be visible at this point on the timeline?

I'm hesitant to upload the project TBH. There isn't much going on/nothing's confidential, but I'm still uneasy about just dropping it here. I'd be more comfortable sharing to a person.

Thanks for any help!
