Overriding a Results Slide

Sep 29, 2020

I've been working on a compliance-based course which is almost exclusively comprised of quiz slides.  At the end of the course, the learner has to agree that they understand the content, clicking "I agree" or "I do not agree".  The idea is that if the learner agrees, the course submits the results (along with the learner's score) to the LMS.  If they do not agree, then they automatically fail.

However I'm struggling to work out how to do this, considering I cannot manually override the results variable based on the state of the "agree/disagree" objects, and I can only have the course report on one results slide.  I also want to avoid including the "agree/disagree" slide in the list of questions the results slide reports on, as it will distort the percentage in the LMS.

Has anybody else had to do this before, and if so, how did you achieve it?

Hi John,

Thanks for reaching out. This sounds like an excellent opportunity to try our new feature in the latest update of Storyline 360: Track Multiple Completion

You can read about all the new features in this article here, but I recommend creating a separate layer in your results slide asking the compliance question. If the user selects, I agree, then you can hide the layer, and the user can proceed with receiving their score to report.

If the user selects, I do not agree, then a completion trigger can report with an Incomplete/Failed reporting status.

I've attached a sample file for reference. Take a look and let us know if this works for you!
