Overwriting Story files on Articulate Online
Sep 17, 2012
I typically publish drafts of projects to Articulate Online to see how they behave and then tweak them by overwriting the file with new versions. That way I'm able to keep the same URL for reviewers and users...especially if content errors are identified after users have been assigned.
Right now, I'm in the draft stages of converting a project I started in Presenter. I published it to Articulate Online and overwrote it a few times with newer versions. When I went to review it, it was loading .swf files from the original and did not play audio. When I closed the window and reopened it, the correct file played.
At this stage, my workaround is to delete the Story from Articulate Online and republish with a new URL. Going forward, however, this will present a problem as once the link is released, it needs to be able to withstand overwriting.
Has anyone else identified this as a problem?

Good Morning, Diane.
Could it be that the older content is simply being cached in your browser? Pressing CTRL+F5 on your keyboard will abandon all cached content and retrieve all content from the server again. Could you give this a try and see if it helps?
Please let us know if you need anything else. Thanks!
Thanks Justin,
I've already deleted and republished the course and will clear the cache if it happens again.
As an FYI, this never happened when I published through Presenter so I'm not convinced it's a browser issue.
