Page numbers missing
May 19, 2014
I'm creating a project by importing a PowerPoint. The PowerPoint slides are numbered; however, when I import them into Storyline the number are wiped out. I do not see a way to add numbering in Storyline.
So far, the only way I've found to get around this problem is to add a text box with the slide number to each slide in the PowerPoint (i.e., hand-number it instead of using the automatic numbering). This is time-consuming and inefficient and creates problems if I need to change the order of slides in the presentation.
There must be a better way to handle this problem. Can you suggest an alternative?
Thanks!

Hi Jennifer,
Importing Powerpoint into Storyline is not an exact one to one conversation, and as such elements like automatic numbering in Powerpoint are not supported within Storyline. The method of adding a text box is what you would need to employ, or if you've enabled the player menu you can include slide numbering there as well. A number of users have requested page/slide numbering as a new feature, so I'd encourage you to share your thoughts here as well.
Thanks! For some reason, it hadn't occurred to me that learners could just rely on the numbers in the menu! That will probably work for most of my projects.
