In my project, I'm asking the learners to count how many times they see a safety issue in a video. They click a button each time they see one, and the related number variable (%count%) is adjusted by 1. I then want to pass that number value into a short answer survey question so I can capture it in our LMS.
The issue I'm having is that I'm not able to set the text entry variable on the short answer to %count%, a number variable, only other text variables.
I think I have a workaround for this (i.e. create a (hidden) multiple choice question that is answered based on the number variable), but before I go through the effort of building it, I want to be sure I'm not missing something.

Could you not use a 'How many' survey question, as in the attached?
Of course! I was using short answer questions throughout and didn't even consider a different kind of survey question.
