Passing Variables Adobe Animate CC HTML5 to Storyline?

Oct 14, 2019

I have been able to create HTML5 animation in Adobe Animate CC, insert as a Web Object in Storyline and have it play. That part is no problem.

What I'm looking for is whether anyone has been able to successfully set JavaScript variables in Animate, read them into Storyline and set the values of Storyline variables.

What I'm after is to be able to track user progress/actions in the HTML5 and set variable in SL to set score or enable Next button etc.

I've been struggling with this for days and I'm no closer to a solution than I was on day 1. I'm about to give up but I'm guessing it's probably a piece of cake for someone who knows what they're doing. Any insights into this?

Thanks Brian. The web object would likely be in the same directory as the SL file, so it wouldn't change. I'm looking for someone who has actually made this work and hopefully provide an example of a functioning script n both the Animate CC side and in Storyline file. Meanwhile, I'll keep trying to figure this out.
