Pause and Timing of Objects

Dec 14, 2012

Hello!

I'm working on a course which has both audio and animated objects (by 'animated' I mean bullets that 'fly in' at specific times in the narration, not just the animated characters).

After further review, we determined that it would be nice to add a pause feature, which I have done.  It works great, other than it doesn't pause the timing of the animated objects from appearing at the moment I originally timed them to.  The animated objects appear at the time I originally set them at even though the audio is being paused.  So, it forces the timing of everything on the slide to be off.

My question is, what would be the best way to keep the pause feature and still have the objects come in at the timing I originally set them at?  Will it be creating a trigger for each animated object?  A variable? or something else?  It makes it somewhat difficult because we don't know when or how many times a participant will pause the material...

Any advice is appreciated.  Thank you!!

Not goofy at all...I'm still pretty new to this stuff .  When I published online using Articulate's LMS I wasn't getting the pause option in the playback.  Since we will be rolling out the program for users to complete online I wanted to be sure they could pause the program if necessary so that's why I added it separately.

Thanks again for your assistance...I was not seeing that in the presentation, but I followed your recommendation of going to the player menu and adding it that way.  It works great now!  Thank you

FYI - I have both of the hard copy manuals for Storyline, and there isn't a lot of information (from what I could find) related to the seekbar.  I realize I'm a novice, but it might be helpful to either have illustrations of what that looks like so that others who aren't as familiar know what that is.

Thanks again!
