pause timeline of layer by clicking symbol of master
Oct 05, 2017
Hello,
i have different layers (01-07) in one slide. Each layer has a audio file.
Each layer is available by a tab (01-07) located at the base layer. nothing else is located at the base layer just tabs.
I set a trigger, when the timeline starts it shows layer 01.
Each layer starts by revisiting at the inital point, cause the replay button at the end of the timeline does not work with the saved state logic.
i have a custom menu in a layer, inside my master slide.
when the user clicks the menu, located at the master, the timeline pause.
if the menu is hidden, by cklicking exit menu, it goes back to the slide, starting by the BASE Layer and NOT by the layer 01.
any solutions?
best chris

If there is a trigger to show layer 1 when the timeline of the slide starts, and that layer does not show the only explanations possible are that the trigger is not being executed, or the layer is being shown, then instantly hidden by another action. This can happen faster than you can see. There are no other explanations. Either it is not being shown, or it is being shown and hidden before you can observe it.
There are dozens of options that could be causing either of those conditions to exist. One that comes to mind is that the timeline on the base layer is not being restarted when you return to it. Perhaps it is set to return to saved state, or choose which state. Only the initial state is guaranteed to restart the base timeline.
In reality, there is no way to know what causes this without looking at the file. Come here, and use the gray ADD ATTACHMENT button to attach your .story file, and probably someone can find the problem for you.
Hi Walt,
thanks for your kind answer. I found a soution.
disable the property "show off other layers" in the layer "MENU" inside the slide master.
Now, if the MENU is visible the timeline of the layer is visible.
Glad you were able to find what you needed Christoph and I appreciate you popping back in to share with the community.
