Pausing a video on a layer

Aug 21, 2018

Hi there -

I am having a hard time figuring out how to pause a video that I have living on a slide layer. The scrubber bar doesn't sync with the video, therefore I don't have the ability to pause the video. Is there a way to have the scrubber line up with the video so that I can pause the video that's on a specific layer?

Hey Erin! I've got a couple of ideas for you. 💡

  • Enable the Video Control Bar beneath the video. This will allow learners to play, pause, rewind, and fast forward the video.

    -OR-
  • Open the Slide Layer Properties, and enable "Pause Timeline of Base Layer." This will sync the player seekbar with the timeline of the layer.

Let me know if one of those options will work for you!

Hi Alyssa - I went with the second option since having both the player seekbar and the video control bar on at the same time would confuse the learner.

Enabling the 'Pause Timeline of Base Layer' seems to work, but then when I got to hit the replay button, it will only replay the specific layer I am on, not the entire slide.
