I often use Peek for screen recordings, then insert the mp4 in Storyline to add some text, etc. When publishing my story file to 360 Review or as SCORM for LMS, the playback works fine.
However, when publishing the story file as a video, the Peek mp4 plays audio only and does not display the video.
If I add a stock video mp4 to Storyline and publish as video, it plays back normally. The freezing issue seems to only happen with video files from Peek when publishing as video from Storyline.
Hi there Liz, really sorry you're running into that problem. This sounds very similar to a bug our team is working on.
When you publish the Storyline content to a video file, does the Peek video appear to be a still image? Or is there a blank space on the slide where the video should be?
Great news! We just released another update for Articulate 360, and included a few important fixes and new features, you'll find a synopsis of those in the release notes here.
The item you'll be interested in is how we fixed an issue where video output is just a static image when you publish for video a slide with Peek screencast
Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application. Details here.
I just tried to publish a slide with a Peek mp4 inserted and the output still isn't playing. It works in the Preview of the slide but not the published version.
FYI I was publishing to web and viewing in browser.
Sorry to hear that you're having difficulty with your Peek video not playing in your output. The solution shared above was specific for publishing to video, but it sounds like you are experiencing something a bit different.
I tested an example that I had on hand and it seems to be working as expected. Does the link here work well for you?
Would you be able to share the Peek mp4 for us to take a look?
Can you tell me a little more about what's happening on this slide with the MP4 video? Does it look like the video is missing from the slide completely, or does it look like a static image that won't play?
Also, is the published output hosted on a web server? What browser were you using for testing?

Yes, a still image :(
Ah, thanks for confirming that. Sounds like the bug I mentioned earlier has popped up in your file.
Our team is working to find a fix. As soon as we do, I'll be sure to let you know.
Really sorry this issue is causing you headaches!
Bummer. Thanks for the update. Any sense of a timeline for this fix?
I don't have an ETA just yet, but it is a priority for us. I'll let you know as soon as I get more information on that!
Any progress yet? Got lots of talking stills in my video.
Thanks for checking in, Stephen. Really sorry this bug is plaguing you, too.
Our team is investigating this, but we don't have an ETA on a fix just yet. We'll post an update here as soon as we know more!

It's a static image that won't play...I tried it with and without the seekbar and clearly the slide is moving but video not playing.
I was viewing it on my local server with Chrome.
Hi Robert,
Thanks for the additional details.
Did you experience the same issue when taking a look at the file I linked above? I uploaded to the web after you mentioned it above.
I have the file that you can take a look at locally as well. It's attached here.
Are you on the latest update of Storyline 360? We are now on Update 17.
