Precise Drop Target For Operation Type game

Jul 06, 2015

I am creating an Operation game with pieces I would like to have only register as correct if they are dropped within a very defined drop zone. If they are even touching the edge of the drop zone it will buzz - just like operation. Here is a picture:

I thought maybe hotspots would work because you can free form design the hotspot shape, but it still will accept a target as long as it is just touching.

Thoughts? I could have sworn I saw someone do this at one point here.

Cheers, and thanks for any suggestions or help.

Hi Michael,

Cool concept - I'm curious to see what you come up with or any ideas the community shares! In regards to ensuring it goes into that drop zone, the drag and drop options can determine if it stays where the user drops it, snaps to the target, etc. as detailed here - but as you saw it only has to touch it or slightly overlap it to be considered correct.

Thanks Ashley.

The objective of this module is that a user drops a puzzle piece on the correct zone and information will be provided on what that puzzle piece represents in our HLC accreditation; 5 puzzle pieces match to each Criterion. The idea of making it truly like Operation -  where you cannot touch a side when dropping a piece - is just additional engagement for the user. So while not critical to learning, it would be just down-right fun for the user to test their skills.
