Performance question

Sep 10, 2012

Disclaimer: I am brand new to this and just finished my first course.  I published it to a place on our internal network and ran it from our network drive and it was unacceptably delayed.  So when I asked people to review it, I had them download the output folder to their machine and run it locally.  (Then it worked great).

My concern is for when we roll this out to customers.  Our plan is to have it accessable through a new LMS over the internet.  Will they run into the same kind of delay?  If so, does anyone have advice on how to surpass the performance issues?

Thanks,

Paul

Paul we had this issue years ago when publishing Articulate Presenter to Scorm 1.2  to use in our LMS we changed to AICC and all works well. Tried Scorm 1.2 with storyline and had to go back to using AICC and all works fine. It seems to be an issue with the teams LMS and company’s Intranet system.  Hope that helps chat54

Network drives are to be avoided if at all possible.  They are designed for file storage and sharing and not for delivering web content via a web server.  you may also sometimes get Flash security messages.

You'll get much better performance using a web server, so I'd expect performance to be acceptable once it gets put into your LMS.
