I have "lost" the .story file on my computer. I only have the zip file that the publication in LMS generated.
Do you know if, from this publication zip file, I can recreate the .story file without having to do it all again?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Hello Celine!
Welcome to Heroes! I'm sorry to hear you have lost the .story file. As Michael said, you cannot recreate the .story file from a published zip file. However there may still be a working version of your project in your temp files. Here's how to check:
1) Open this folder in Windows Explorer: %appdata%\Articulate\Storyline
2) Scan the contents of this folder for a file that starts with the name of your project. If you find one, copy it to your desktop. If you find more than one, copy the latest version to your desktop.
3) Change the file extension of the copy on your desktop from *.tmp to *.story.
That's not a fun position to be in, but let's not give up yet!
When you open Storyline 360, a Recent section will appear on the left. If you don't see the course underneath, click Browse for More at the bottom-left. From there, you can search your hard drive for the .story file. 🤞

Unfortunately, you can't somehow recreate a .story file from published content.

Thank you Alyssa. I'll try and hope it will work. Have a nice evening.
I hope so too, Celine. Keep me posted!
Hi Alyssa,
When I open %appdata%\Articulate\Storyline, I only find two files : "360" and "themes"
I have lost my work (I did not save it :( ), do I have an other way to have it back ?
Thank you
So sorry to hear you lost your work, Gwenaelle.
