Pick One Scoring Options - Need each selection to have a different scoring value

Jan 10, 2018

I am trying to use the Pick One question type; however, I need each item to have a different scoring value. For example if I have 4 graphics on the page and the student selects graphic 1, they would get 5 points, if they select graphic 2 they would get 10 points, if they select graphic 3 they would get 15 points and if they selected graphic 4 they would get 20 points. Is this possible.

Hey there Janet!

Thanks for posting your question here in the community.

This is definitely possible. I think what you want to do is the following:

  • Create a Freeform "Pick One" slide that has your choices on it
  • Assign your choices in the Form View drop downs
  • Under options tab up on the ribbon, change "Score" to "By choice". This way you can assign a different points value to each choice in the Pick One interaction .
  • You can also change the "Feedback" to be "By choice" as well if you want a unique feedback for each choice.

Hope this helps :)
