Picture inheritance

Jun 07, 2016

Hello all, good morning.

This one might be a newbie question. :)

I would like to know if there's a way to inherit picture between slides. I am thinking of having one slide(or something) as 'warehouse of picture' with each pict assigned a unique variable.

And then in each slide which i want to put a certain picture placed a pict placeholder that called a certain variable which then show the respective picture.

I'm thinking it to save filesize and to be able to make one of my (lets call main slide) be able to show different picture of different company logo that may change time to time.

Hi Antonius!

I'm not sure that I'm following your question or what you are wanting to do.

If you are looking to conserve file size, perhaps slide masters will assist.

Slide masters in Articulate Storyline are very similar to slide masters in Microsoft PowerPoint. Use them to control the default themes, colors, fonts, text, and objects for slides throughout your course. They're big time savers, letting you apply the same look and feel across multiple slides all at once. See this tutorial to learn more.

You can't do that this way, especially if you want the picture in different locations.

Leslie's idea of creating various layouts on the Master slide is best. Put each picture on its own layout, and change the layout for the different slides.

Thanx Leslie and Walt.
@Leslie.
Here is what i actually want.
Lets take for example, i make 4 slide, (1 to 4)
In Slide #1 i put 4 picture, let's say 4 company logo A, B, C, D. (this is
the slide that i consider the warehouse slide)
in slide 2 i put (if possible) a placeholder that 'calls' picture/logo A,
maybe as a header on the upper left side of the slide.
and a placeholder for logo B, i put in layout maybe as footer on the bottom
right.
in slide 3 i put maybe in the center, a bigger size (than in slide #1) of
logo C, and maybe a smaller picture of logo D on the edge.

Something like iframe, that may call certain URL, but in this case, my
slide calls certain picture in other slide, without have to paste same
picture again and again (at doing this im thinking of having smaller
filesize)

i am designing a slide that would need sponsor and i want to make the
pictures, called that way (if possible)
just for in case, after some period of time there would be different
company sponsoring my work. So i would have to just change
one master picture on my slide #1 in my example.

i will try using slide master that you've suggested. thank you in advance.
