Can someone help me with the following. I have a number of hotspots set up on a screen. when the learner rolls their mouse over they get rollover text. However, what I want to do is place a highlight bar over these areas so its obvious to the learner where to go as its a busy screen. the thing is, when I insert a shape over the rollver area, it seems to cause the rollover to stop functioning,
This is terribly rough and ready, but you might try something like this where you highlight ALL areas by having a hover state on the complete image, then hotspots over the items that trigger layers.
Sorry cannot spend more time on this but may help create an alternative approach.
Thanks Bruce although I'm not quite getting it. I've attached a screenshot of what I mean. What I want is a red highlight bar around the hotspots. When I add it in it seems to overlay the hotspot and make it non-functional. Is there a way of doing this without using states?

Hi Pat,
Could you place your red shapes behind the hotspots?
Annie
Hi Annie,
I have tried that and the highlights don't appear unfortunaltely :-(
Thanks
Pat
Do you want your highlights to be always visible or only on mouse hover?
Pat,
Just thought about it... if you want, you can use shape instead of hotspot using its Hover state and adding the same trigger.
I have made this from Bruce's story file. Tell me if that can be of any help.
Annie
Might this also work?
GlowHover2.story
thanks, I think I'm getting there
I do need the highlight to appear at all times though
thanks
Pat
Like this?
If you need the highlight to appear at all time, I was able to add the shape behind the hotspot and it was showing without problems.
I have attached the file with the shape behind the hotspot.
super, thanks everyone!
