Hello - I would like to use the play/pause buttons in my storyline course but not the scrollbar - I think the scroll bar can be distracting. Is there a way to include play/pause buttons but not the scroll bar?
Not on the player itself. The play/pause button and scrollbar are built as one unit. Now, you could program buttons on the slide itself to act as a play/pause toggle.
Hi Kristen, you can create the custom play pause button but there are so much limitations you have, you can only have tow layer in your screen that is a base layer and another layer you have to add it for play button.
Step 1.craete pause button in base layer
Step 2. create play button in another layer and name as xxxxxx(any name) .
Step 3. give a trigger to pause button, give trigger as show play layer + xxxxxx.
Step 4.select xxxxxx layer settings and select the option of "pause timeline of the base layer"
Step 5.give trigger to play button, action- hide layer+this layer,
That's not entirely true Sinchu. You can have more than 2 layers on a slide and still have this functionality work. You just want to make sure that you uncheck the layer option to "hide other slide layers". By doing this, it will allow your pause layer to be open when other layers are visible as well.
In fact, if you're wanting this functionality throughout the course, then I recommend adding the pause layer to your master slide. This way all your functionality will be inherent throughout the course. Keep in mind that if you add a slide layer to a master slide, it will not show up in the layers panel when you work with your content slides - HOWEVER, it is still functional.
Ooops-( i was wrong.i will try this way, jamie i really want to do it in mster slide, can you please help me how to create? if u can just please share one sample file. i have already created a course keeping play pause button in each page and took so much effort hours to do this way.it will be really helpful if am creating in slide master.i have done this way because of the tutorials i got it from storyline. thanks so much for your valuable inputs.

Oooooh man you rock!!! Successful story here, it all makes sense:
I had audio and animation on a layer that needed to pause all together synced so with Sinchu's idea about showing a layer that's "dead" pauses everything TOGETHER and then when you hit the PLAY buttons it hides this layer again so that totally worked for me.
Now I just need to apply these two buttons all across 200 slides, any ideas on how to do this in bulk?
