Player size properties?

May 08, 2012

Hi,

Is there any solution to change the borders size of the main player or the size of the prev/next buttons? I thing I can change the colors of the player directly in the frame.xml. Is there an other xml for the size proprerties of the player?

Thanks,

You can't adjust the size of the player buttons or border.

But you can make the borderĀ  transparent by editing the advanced color editing settings in the player properties.

You can also turn off the prev and next buttons and create your own buttons - this will give you more flexibility as to how you want your buttons to look and behave.

This is disappointing, and potentially a deal-breaker.

I developed an iPhone landscape sized Storyline, but the player wrapper and its buttons prevented it from filling the screen, so it was unusable. Unlike other iPhone content, the Storyline player will not zoom.

I thought it was possible to change the player to another one, but I'm beginning to suspect that meant simply changing the skin.

Does anyone have a solution or a workaround? I have to submit a report in the next 36 hours.

Incidentally, the KB comparsion chart -

uses 'Mobile' to describe the iPad app. That is not 'mobile' in my developer's phrasebook .

Glad you found a workaround. I do the same thing - turn off all the navigation buttons as I like building my own buttons that look like they are part of the course itself.

As for the mobile player, it is designed for the iPad. I think the term mobile has gotten much broader depending on who you ask and frankly I think developing for the iPad has surpassed developing for iPhones (simply due to the larger screen size). Considering Articulate is heavily used for learning events - the larger screen size is a pretty big win.

In any event, good luck with your proposal. Frankly, I've not seen any software that offers the features of Storyline at this price point & with the ease of use. That's just my 2 cents.
