Player with transparent background

I am trying to have a player with a transparent background. 

I want the page to contain a background image that is visible both outside and inside the player. I am happy to add the image to the css of the published file.

The html5 version is fine, but the flash version puts the background colour defined in the player colors and effects underneath the slide. This is with the slide background set at transparent.

Can I set the background colour in the player to be transparent?
