Player without border

Jan 21, 2013

Hello,

I'm trying to get the player to display at the correct size. I did everything recommended here:

http://community.articulate.com/forums/t/12412.aspx

However, when I look in the story.html file that was generated for an lms, I find the dimensions 1044x788 instead if the 1024x768 that I configured.

Is it at all possible to remove every possible padding and border and to have the player display the slides as they are displayed in storyline when creating them, at the exact size that was given in Design->Story Size?

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

What are you using for the player size options? You can access these by going to "Player". Then, in the "Player Properties" window, click on the cogwheel for "Other".

I'd be happy to take a look, if you'd like to post your project's .STORY file here. You can attach it by using the paperclip icon in your response.

(Love the avatar, by the way)

Thanks!

Good morning Alex,

When I publish and upload the content, the player size is sticking to 1024x768 for me. There is a bit of a boarder around the content, but I'm not sure if that's what you're referring to. Take a look at the version I uploaded here. Note that I did add the option to launch the content in a new window. Simply because it may auto-scale if you open it in a new tab of a browser.

I also tried this after publishing for SCORM 1.2 and it's also showing the player at 1024x768. So, just to double-check, is it the additional space other than the player that's the concern? Or is this showing up differently for you?

Thanks Alex!

Hey guys,

We want to publish a course to a LMS site with TinCan API (a website with LMS capabilities to track users, quizzes and reporting etc.). So we want to be able to export content without the player. I see that you can turn off the side bar in the player properties along with a few other controls. However is it possible to get rid of the frame and the forward + backward buttons at the bottom?

I believe what Alex and Oliver are looking for is what is called a "chromeless" player (the "chrome" is, when looking at a browser window for instance, all of the elements which are NOT the content, like the menu bar, tabs, scroll bars, Minimize/Maximize/Close buttons, and the border surrounding the content). There is a solution posted here for Storyline:
