Playing Media when Trigger is a Key Stroke

Mar 18, 2015

Hi there,

I'm trying to create a trigger so that when the learner clicks "1" on their keyboard, the screen recording in the timeline plays. For some reason, I can't get the media to play when I hit the "1" key.

Are my trigger settings incorrect?

I've proved a screen shot of the trigger settings and the player (please ignore bright red boxes--trying to protect confidential info!).

Hi Sarah,

It looks like your trigger is set up correctly, although I may change the object to the slide itself instead of the screen recording action? I think it may be getting tripped up there as I suspect the user isn't clicking that key on that actual object? Also you'll want to ensure you're working based on how triggers are executed here.

Hi Ashley!

I'm still not sure why I hit a snag, but I did find a work-around. I duplicated the slide so that when the learner clicked the trigger on the first slide, the second slide played the media automatically and then advanced to the following slide once the media ended. I realize that this work-around may not make sense based on the screen captures and problem I described above, but it now functions exactly how I need!

Thanks for the quick response.
