Playing simultaneous videos in Storyline

Jun 17, 2014

I have a video which was shot from 4 different angles (4 videos showing the same scene from different angles).  I would like to place the videos into Storyline so that they play simultaneously in different layers and the user can switch back and forth among the various angles.  So far I am not able to get them to trigger to play at the same time when the timeline starts.  They only start to play when their layer is opened; after that they will continue to play even when other layers are selected, but by that time are no longer synched.  They will play synchronized when on a single layer, but that is too distracting and I want the learner to see only one video on the screen at a time.  Any way to get the layers to start play when the slide opens rather than when the layer opens?  Or is there another option to make this work?

Hi Scott,

I'm not sure there is a way to set this up - because as you mentioned they won't begin playing till their layer is opened and then wouldn't be synced with one another. I know you said that when they all play on the same layer it's too distracting - but what about just playing two at once and creating one that would be smaller/sit inside the larger video - similar to how you can mix tracks in Replay (which you could set it up in Replay and bring it in as one video too - maybe even auto change the angles using the different tracks. Replay in free with a Storyline license).
