Poor resolution in word output, and numbering
Jul 22, 2013
Hi Forum,
I am currently reviewing storyline for our company and have found it to be generally excellent, only issues I have at the moment main relate around the word output. We will be using storyline as training material, during the course, however our clients would also generally like to have a printout, hence using word.
However the output resolution of the slides is very poor, and its very hard to read espcially if you get down to font 8. Screen shots also become blurry. Is there a way to increase the resolution of the output slides.
Also word doc takes the numbering of the slides from the main source, as apposed to the index created for the Menu in the player, as a result the slides end up out of order when you have multiple scenes, I cannot see a way to force the numbering correctly outside of the player.
Thanks for any help in this matter, Paul

Hi Paul,
Welcome to Heroes! The resolution when publishing to Word is a known issue that we currently have solved in our next Update (4) which is currently in beta. There is no set release date, but you can keep an eye on our blog, follow us on Facebook or Twitter for news and updates!
Thanks!
Hi Ashley,
Any chance this will be available by end of Aug ?? we have to develop and deliver a training course by then with training notes, and at this stage I will have to buy adobe captivate instead because its word output works fine.

Paul Ross
Hi Paul,
We don't have a release date set for the next update, so unfortunately I don't know if it would be available by the time you need it.
Sorry! :(
Hi Ashley
Has this issue been resolved in Storyline 1? Is there a fix I can download?
Hello John!
It looks like this was fixed in Update 4. We are currently in Update 7 which you can download here.
Thank you Emily.

John, there have been improvements in the Word output resolution but it is still very hard to read, the output is still in the order of your scenes—not the menu, and text on the base layer is still being shown on layers where it is turned off. I know they are working on this but it's still very unsatisfying for my purposes, YMMV.
To be fair about the output order, it's easy enough to rearrange your scenes to be in sequential order. It just seems odd that you need to.
