Poor video quality in Storyline 2
Jul 18, 2016
I've been reading many of the threads here that relate to the above topic. It seems there has been no improvement on this since the topic was raised over 2 years ago. We are now at the point where we have over 120+ videos (1-2mins each). To use a solution that has been suggested (replace the Articulate rendered ones with the original) is time consuming and impractical. Are there no plans to include an option that allows us a users to decided whether to compress or not? It seems a wasted opportunity with Storyline 2 not to have included this. If anyone has any other suggestions I'd be grateful
Thanks
Eric

Hi Eric
If you use lots of videos inside the storyline then its create performance issue, you can use webobject to embed the video.
Please see the attached files
Hi Sinchu,
Thanks for the reply - unfortunately I can't run HTML5 content - however what is the difference bewtween importing a video and a webobject?
Hi, Eric -- Thanks for reaching out here! May I ask if you have had a chance to review this information on Video Compression in Articulate Storyline 2?
Hi, yes had a look at this and the option is greyed out. had a look and I'm not sure what these references mean?
"You can turn off compression altogether for MP4 videos created with baseline, main, or high profiles. (All other videos will be compressed automatically.)"
Thanks
Eric
Hi, Eric -- Thanks for your reply, and for an idea of what baseline, main, or high profile mean with respects to MP4 videos, perhaps you will find the information here under the Profiles section to be of some assistance.
