possible to censor text entry?

Hi folks. I'm working on a tutorial for a youth audience and have been asked whether we can apply restrictions to the words or phrases that can be entered into a text entry field within Storyline. The intention is to keep offensive language from being entered. Is this possible?

Hi Tamara,

By default, no. However, there a way to evaluate the TextEntry variable for specific words that would prompt the user to use a different word(s)

First, create a layer with a prompt that asks the user to try again. Button hides layer.

Then add a trigger to a button to submit the words entered. On that trigger, add the condition:

- Show [Layer name] when the user clicks [button] IF TextEntry is equal to (ignore case) [offensive word]

You'd have to add an OR condition for each potential word though.
