Post TinCan statements from HTML5 output to LRS
May 13, 2015
I have published(HTML5 output) my storyline 2 content to post TinCan statements to Learning Locker LRS. Flash output seems to be posting correctly however the HTML5 output does not posting statements to LRS.
Flash output: story.html URL(This works):
http://d1server.cloudapp.net/storyline2/story.html?endpoint=http://137.116.137.253/data/xAPI/&auth=Basic MmVjZTZkMzZiMDkxNTdmNTNmMDhiMTA5ZmEyNDNmMWE4Y2NiNGNjMjoxMWVkZGRlMTk1YjQ2OGNiZWEzYjU3NGQyNThiYmI4NGUxMjI0YmIz&actor={"name": ["Harsheen"], "mbox": ["mailto:Harsheen@flipick.com"], "objectType": ["Agent"]}®istration=2981c910-6445-11e4-9803-0800200c9a66
HTML5 output: story_html5.html URL(This does not work):
http://d1server.cloudapp.net/storyline2/story_html5.html?endpoint=http://137.116.137.253/data/xAPI/&auth=Basic MmVjZTZkMzZiMDkxNTdmNTNmMDhiMTA5ZmEyNDNmMWE4Y2NiNGNjMjoxMWVkZGRlMTk1YjQ2OGNiZWEzYjU3NGQyNThiYmI4NGUxMjI0YmIz&actor={"name": ["Harsheen"], "mbox": ["mailto:Harsheen@flipick.com"], "objectType": ["Agent"]}®istration=2981c910-6445-11e4-9803-0800200c9a66

Just wanted to link your similar thread here.
Hi, Ravindra - Please test your output in the SCORM Cloud and check out this information if you receive the message, "Unable to Connect to Server" When Launching Tin Can API Content at SCORM Cloud.
Hi Christie and Leslie,
We have integrated it with Learning Locker and would like to stick to it.
My problem is, Flash version sends statements properly to our LRS but HTML5 output does not.
Is there any limitation that HTML5 output don't post to LRS?
How should we rectify the problem?
Hi Ravindra! Did you test your output as Christie mentioned above? This would help us to identify if there is an issue with the content or if you need to look to your LMS for assistance.
Be sure that you are sharing and publishing your content as explained here.
Thanks, Leslie and Christie. Its working now.
Thank you for the update, Ravindra! So glad to hear you are all set. :)
I'm having this issue as well where the user progress records to the LRS with Flash but when opened in HTML5 user progress is not recorded.
I've tested in SCORM Cloud, and both versions launch without fail - only HTML5 does not record user progress. Any helpful hints?
Hi Brian!
Are you saying you are able to replicate the problem in SCORM Cloud, or you are not? If you can, please share the .story file for us to take a look, but if you cannot, I'd advise following up with your LMS team.
We were able to replicate this issue in SCORM Cloud.
The story file is attached.
Thanks for the clarification Brian. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing the file attached here. Please be sure that you pop into the forums and utilize the 'Add Attachment' feature in your reply. If you are responding via e-mail the attachments do not come through.

Thanks for sharing Brian. I am having difficulty testing the content and have sent to our support team to assist you. You should be hearing from someone soon. I apologize for not being able to assist.
No worries. Thanks for trying.
Brian, were you ever able to figure this issue out? We are having the same issue as well.
Hi, Dann -- Thanks for reaching out, and as this thread is some what dated and Brian may no longer be subscribed, you are welcome to reach out directly via the 'Contact Me' link on his profile page. I will also be happy to search for his case that was in Support and I'll reply with any relevant information I discover as soon as possible.
Hi, Dann -- It appears that the following is the last reply sent to Brian from our engineer, Jayem, in 11/2015:
"I published your project using your last publish settings, which is already Tin Can API. I viewed the project using an Android device and Google Chrome browser.
I suggest that you test this on your end and let us know the result as well as the browser (and version) you used.
More details regarding Tin Can API, sometimes called Experience API or xAPI, is found here.
The following white paper provides technical information to help LMS developers implement the Tin Can API to fully support Articulate content.
And this e-book, provided by scorm.com, includes technical best practices for Tin Can API developers. I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact us again if you need further assistance."
Hope that helps and please let us know if you still have questions!
Hi DW - The issue was with the LRS at the time. I highly recommend testing with SCORM Cloud and seeing the results for all outputs, including HTML5. Happy to help in the future!
Hi Ravindra, I am running into a similar issue. I know the thread is old now at this point, but do you happen to remember the fix you made to enable Articulate content to communicate in HTML5 as well as flash. Currently only flash is working with my integration.
As some context:
-Articulate content is hosted on S3
-I am publishing with flash/html5 selected
-LRS being used is SCORM cloud
Best,
Ryan
