I have a resource section of my class that lists a variety of materials for the learner to use outside of the class. Most are website links and PDFs, but I also have two powerpoints and one excel file. The powerpoints and excel will not open the "save or open' box from the browser.
I did go and post the files on the web server and they popup fine there, just not through the class. Any ideas?
To be clear, I am not using the players Resource section, but instead have a slide labled resources (so we can explain the benfit of each resource). I am using a trigger to jump to url/file.
Thanks for the additional information - are you testing the course by uploading it to the web server with the files? The links will not work if you are previewing the project and occasionally the link may be blocked ( because of browser security) when you are running the project from your desktop.
If you're testing it within the intended environment, and it's still not working - are you able to share the .story file here so that we can take a look? If you'd prefer to not post it in the forums you can also send it to our team by submitting a Support case.
Thanks Barbara - you may want to review this article (it's about Presenter) but the same security restrictions may apply to Storyline content played within an internet browser. If you'd like our team to test it out as well, please feel free to submit it as a Support case too.

I did, but further testing shows the links do open (whew!), but not in IE. So now I just need to figure out the issue with IE (I'm using IE8).
