Hi - I use Storyline 3 and am trying to import slides from PowerPoint. Many of the images come through as colored squares. When I click on the image in PowerPoint, I notice the "Graphics Tools" menu ribbon opens. If I select "Convert to Shape" and then reimport the slide, the images comes through without any issue. However, there are MANY images with this problem and it would take a lot of time to convert every image. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks Owen - no, they are not SmartArt. They're just images (kind of look like icons). I didn't create the PPT, so I'm not sure how they were created/inserted...
I haven't imported anything that included MS 360 Icons available in PowerPoint. They might act very much like Smart Art.
1) are you using PowerPoint 360 and if so
2) can you right click an icon in PowerPoint and "convert to shape"? Having it changed from an icon to a shape or group of shapes pre-import to StoryLine might resolve your issue.
Yes, I'm using PowerPoint 365. I am able to convert the images to a shape and then it imports correctly, but there about 37 slides and each slide has anywhere from 1-4 images on it - so I was hoping for a quicker fix...
Totally understand. I don't think the SL programmers even have icon import on their radar. You might want to make a feature request but unfortunately, it won't help you with your current issue.

I've typically only run into this with PowerPoint Smart Art. Smart Art does NOT play nicely with StoryLine. Is this happening with standard shapes?
