PowerPoint import

Jan 24, 2013

I'm new to Storyline and am trying to import a PowerPoint. My issue is that the progress bar shows good speed until 50% through. Then it stops. I'm at 20 minutes so far. I thought maybe the presentation I was trying to import was too large, so my most recent try is simply 1 slide with basic verbiage on it.

I've read through the posts on this issue, but I don't get an error message; it simply stops making progress.

Is there some piece I'm missing?

Hey Jessica!

Are your PowerPoint files and Storyline located on the same drive? If you'd like, we'd be happy to test it on our end. You can send us your PowerPoint files and we can try to get it imported. First, create an Articulate Presenter Package of your presentation as described here. Then upload the resulting zip file from your computer on the second page of this form, and we''ll attempt to diagnose what's happening when we receive your upload. Thanks!

Hi Chris, welcome to the community

Sorry you're hitting a snag with the import. Please be sure you're following the below guidelines, and we can try troubleshooting from there:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Are you having trouble with any PowerPoint, or just the one specific PowerPoint? Please feel free to open a support ticket of your own so we can see what's going on.

Thanks, Chris!
