did you import PPT slides into Storyline (they are set to auto advance) so that could be the issue.
if you open the storyline file in Storyview, CtrlA to select all slides you should be able to make the change from 'advance automatically' to 'by user' in the bottom right hand corner Slide properties panel.

Thanks for that. It explains why slides I added in storyline did not have a problem. Issue resolved.
