I have tried several times to import a Powerpoint project into Storyline and have the associated ppta (Presenter) file come with, but it isn't. I had audio throughout, but it isn't coming over. And the ppta file is sitting in the same folder as the Powerpoint file. Help?
Importing from powerpoint to Storyline is not an exact one to one conversion, and there are some elements such as background audio (the playlist) which won't be imported into Storyline. Additionally, sounds that were inserted into Powerpoint animations are not supported. Storyline does support audio that was imported into PowerPoint via the Insert menu as well as narration recorded in PowerPoint. Storyline also supports audio that was imported or recorded in Articulate Presenter.
Ashley, the audio was created in Presenter. I will say that I moved all of the files to my desktop for import and I read somewhere that the Storyline import feature might be looking for the Presenter file in it's original location? Is that my problem perhaps? If so, could I see exactly where my original directory was by opening the project in Presenter?
That could definitely be the problem - if you've moved your files, did you move the .ppt and the .ppta file? The later is what holds elements such as audio done within Presenter. The PPTA file must be in the same folder as the PowerPoint file, and they must have the same file name. I don't know that there is a way to see where the original directory was, unless you didn't move the .ppta file - you could look at the properties of that file for the directory path. As long as you have the PPTA and PPT file together and named correctly it shouldn't be impacted by if they were moved - unless they were moved somewhere that was no a local drive.
I've tried multiple times and it just doesn't want to come over...the ppt and ppta file are in the same folder, named the same...don't know why it won't work. If anybody else out there has tried this and had success, let me know.

Hi Maura,
Could you follow the steps here to create a Presenter package and share it here with us so that I can test it as well?
