There are several benefits to using SL for creating tablet-happy output - more so than using Presenter.  

However, there are known issues with importing the latter into SL, e.g. formatting/layout goes crazy.  Maybe it depends on the objects you're working with and how complex things are.  

Remember SL offers a heck of a lot more functionality than Presenter full stop.  For a start, any clickable animations/"popups" that take place over multiple PowerPoint slides can be handled via layers and states on just a single slide.  

Not sure how great SL is on devices other than iPad.  Others will be along with more experience there.  Worth checking out articles like this though ...
