Quick question. Can someone please confirm for me that there is no way to disable question slides from automatically turning on the Prev/Next buttons when visiting that slide on a subsequent review? I've seen a few discussions about this and few suggested solutions - none of which seem to be working for me.
When you revisit a slide that has already been submitted—no matter how you get there—you're reviewing the slide.
We'll always see the "Previous" and "Next" buttons when reviewing questions.
Here's some information from an article on this topic:
When learners review a quiz (or revisit question slides they've already submitted), they'll see Articulate Storyline's built-in Prev and Next buttons in the lower right corner of the player—even if you've disabled them throughout your course.
These navigation buttons are necessary for learners to review quiz slides.
If you'd like to have an option to disable the Prev and Next buttons during quiz review so you can use your own custom navigation buttons, please let us know. We value your feedback.
I know that doesn't help as far as a workaround goes, but hopefully this is the information you were seeking.
Hi - I have a follow up on this. In several courses I've created, when reviewing these previously submitted slides, the previous and next button tend to not advance (or do anything) so my learner has to close out and not resume where they were and not review again. This happens almost every time. Is this because there is branching for my submit button (really the continue button after correct or incorrect) that is not being applied to the NEXT button?
Hi Wendy, thanks for taking a look. The problem is actually happening when reviewing the quiz... I can't set a trigger for those 'automatically generated' buttons. Also, the questions aren't repeated... those are simulations where the user needs to perform the correct steps.
Looks like you are jumping scenes during your review and that certainly presents some issues with the built in buttons. Nicole explains how to correct this best here.

Thanks Christine! That does help. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed a workaround or some other solution. Thanks for the clarification!
THANKS!

You're very welcome! :)
Have a great day!

I have a problem where my PREV buttons on review aren't working... I'm not using any branching nor any custom buttons... hoping someone can help.
Hi Nancy!
This thread is a bit dated. Do you have a .story file you'd like us to take a look at?

Hi Nancy
I think SL is getting confused as you have all the questions in the project as well as the QB with all the questions.
On the question slides there doesn't appear to be a previous trigger

Leslie, are you able to help?
Hi,
Not sure if you saw, but I posted the SL file.

Hi Leslie,
Unfortunately the questions are randomized, so there is no way to know which is the "last" question.
Then I would advise placing them in the same scene.
Perhaps others in the community have suggestions for your design needs.
other solution, change the color of your NEXT/PREV button to the color of your background ^^
