Prevent overlapping audio clips

Hello, I have a project that I am working on that has 3 different audio clips and associated markers. I have triggers that play the audio when one hovers over the marker. I decided to do things in this way, because if I put the audio in the marker, when the marker loses focus the audio stops. I want the audio to play in its entirety. So I put the audio clips in the timeline, and if one hovers over the marker, the correct audio plays. This is working. However, if one hovers over another marker when the first one is playing, both play at the same time. I looked into various variables to see if there is some way to make it such that if one audio clip is playing, the other will not. I can't see how to do it.
...any suggestions?

Hi All, I found a workaround, https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/don-t-want-multiple-audio-files-to-play-at-once but unfortunately for me it really complicates my project, since I have 7 markers on this slide.
Anyone have a less complex solution?
I would probably put them one in each layer (and set layer to reset when revisiting) and show the layer on hover (and make sure the checkmark to close the layer is turned on). That should work fine.
Thanks for your response. I was hoping there would be something less complex (although doing what you suggest isn't that complex per se, I will have to repeat it over 5 separate language layers, meaning 15 extra layers on one slide. Can Storyline handle such a thing? Are there limitations to the numbers of slides or layers or whatever? ...just curious...
You can easily have 100 layers. No problem.
Thanks for your answer!
