Preventing user from scrubbing video in HTML5 version

Mar 11, 2017

I've been doing e-learning modules in Storyline 2 where a video is embedded. The user is prevented from scrubbing forward in the video by an invisible rectangle placed over the video controls. I've noticed, however, that when Flash is not enabled, the controls disappear and a different type of video control appears. Unfortunately, this one is completely scrubbable. What's going on? Is there an easy fix?

I've attached two screenshots - one of the Flash controls and one of the non-Flash version.

Thanks,

Lisa

Hi Lisa

I see the behaviour and have a workaround of sorts.

I placed a rectangle over the entire video which is set on the Edit states' tab to initial state - disabled.

Only thing is it flashes the progress bar then hides it for the duration of the video (12 secs) then shows it at the end - but it cannot be clicked on.

Hopefully someone else will chime in with a better solution.
