Preview Error?? Freeform Quiz Slides

Feb 26, 2017

Hello, so I am experiencing a problem when I try to preview a new quiz slide I just created. I've never gotten this message before, but when I preview the screen starts flashing green and a pop-up box says: "Oh no... We're about to close the course! Rescue the session!" Has anyone else ever experienced this issue before and know how to fix it? Thanks!

Hi Lea,

Well that's a new one! I've never seen that error message before in Storyline. Are you able to share a screenshot of it so that we could help track it down? You can upload one by clicking on the "add attachment" button at the bottom of the forum discussion.

Wendy's suggestions are also things I'd want to know if a new file behaves the same way, and if not, you can look at importing your existing file into a new file as shown in these directions. There is also some good general information here about best practices for working on your files. That information is for Storyline 2, but the same would apply in Storyline 360.

I'm attaching a screenshot of what the error message looks like when I go to Preview... I am working with SL 2.

I'm getting this error just by adding a new freeform quiz slide, without adding any objects, triggers, etc. to the slide. All I can think is the file is corrupted somehow?? I've used freeform quiz slides in the past without any issues.

Definitely not one I've seen before! Did you get this file as a template from someone else? Perhaps looking at your feedback masters and/or any of the text labels will help you track down where that message appears?  Those are the two spots that come to mind where you could modify messaging but not easily see it on a slide or layer. If you're still struggling to track down the text definitely share the .story file - as then we all can take a look! You’ll want to upload the .story file here (which is the file prior to publishing) using the “ADD ATTACHMENT” button at the bottom of the forums reply window. If you’d prefer to not share in the public you’re always welcome to share with our Support Engineers here. They’re available 24/7 to assist!
