Hi,
The preview functionality suddenly stopped working. It was working in the morning but suddenly the preview of all existing/new storyline projects show show a blank slide, irrespective of whether I preview a slide, scene, or project. Also the audio play function/preview is not working. Attached is a screenshot of what happens when I preview a slide. Also I have reinstalled Storyline 2 as well as flash player. Would be great if you could help.

I had to manually make mine go too Daniela. Seems my 'system schedule' wanted to stay on schedule - I had to nudge it a bit ;)
So I googled windows update and I clicked on Windows Updates and ran it. Then I rebooted and now I get Preview ! I would give the steps but I can't remember exactly as I tried so many things.
I've now just started having issues. HELP! I need to show a preview to a SME! My Windows8 is up to date and, like some other folks, I am not allowed to install a previous version of Flash because the system says I am not installing the most current version, and I am not able to override it.
Anyone have a working solution yet?
Hey, I updated a 'Cumulative security update for Windows to address flash issues' and all working fine - woo hoo
just left my pc to update, lets see what happens
I updated and all fixed now - windows 8
Hi Vicki,
Can you check which Flash version you're using in a browser such as Internet Explorer 11? I also heard from a few others the Windows update was listed as KB3133431 and you'll be looking for a Flash version of version 20,0,0,272.
I had to force the update on my system and then force it to install - but it was definitely there. You can follow the steps here in regards to checking for updates and worst case scenario if you need someone to review it you could publish in the meantime.
I tried all of the solutions offered (except for installing a previous version of Flash - not allowed through my organization) and haven't had any luck. My Windows 7 is up to date and I have the latest Flash Player update. Restarted after doing both. Any more suggestions?
I'm on Windows 8 and have tried all of the solutions and nothing is working. I have tried all of the solutions, too.
Publishing without preview is NOT an option! I can't view what I have done, so I can't make tweaks easily or quickly.
I'll check for the KB3133431 update. And, I know how to check for updates and have done so.
Ooops. The KB3133431 update is for Win10, not Win8, so it won't work.
Do you have a direct link for this? I did a Google search, but nothing came back.
I followed those steps before I posted. :)
Hi Vicki,
I don't have a direct link, as I was able to find the update directly on my system. I know another user mentioned they didn't have it immediately and had to wait a bit, but they were based in Australia. Perhaps it was rolled out to US based users first? If you're still unable to find it did you check what Flash version you're using in a browser such as Internet Explorer? It should be saying "You have version 20,0,0,272 installed"
Oh, sorry, Ashley. Regarding the direct link: I was responding to Wendy Farmer on her update.
I have version 20.0.0.267 installed on Chrome.
Hi Vicki,
You'll want to check Internet Explorer or Firefox as Chrome has it's own version of Flash installed so you'll still see the previous version.
Okay, I don't have IE on my system (not a fan!), so I just went to one of the Chrome geek boards and got the issue resolved. Just required a tweak to one of the Chrome settings.
Thanks.
Could you please share what the setting was, Vicki? I'm still not having any luck.
Sure, Amanda. Happy to help.
First, go to the Adobe site and install the latest version of Flash for Chrome. (Choose the "install version FP20 for Chromium PPAPI" option.) Try that first. According to the geek boards, that solves the issue most of the time. If not, then go into the Flash settings and change the security settings to "always allow SWF and FLV content to use older security settings."
I have no idea why changing the security settings worked for me. Securit should have nothing to do with it, but it does. :)
Good luck.
I don't blame you Vicki, I'm not either :-) - glad you were able to get it working following that security setting.
Thanks, Ashley!
Thanks for sharing. Hopefully this will work for me too.
Sorry Vicki just saw your comment - this is the update I did yesterday to fix IE. I agree I'm not a fan either and had turned off IE in windows features but need it for testing client work. Firefox and Chrome had been working fine for me.
No worries, Wendy. I appreciate your time in trying to help me out. :)
