Hi,
The preview functionality suddenly stopped working. It was working in the morning but suddenly the preview of all existing/new storyline projects show show a blank slide, irrespective of whether I preview a slide, scene, or project. Also the audio play function/preview is not working. Attached is a screenshot of what happens when I preview a slide. Also I have reinstalled Storyline 2 as well as flash player. Would be great if you could help.

Thanks Shannon. I just tried this link.. The flash player is installed and i can see the clouds moving as well. However, the preview still does not work. :(
I'm using Win 7 and Edward's link to the fix worked for me. I now have preview again. Hope there is a quick resolution for other users. https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html

Hi everyone and thanks for popping in to assist each other over the holiday weekend. Much appreciated!
As shared here by a few, there is an update that assists Win 7 users and you can check out our documentation here.
For anyone having difficulty with instructions we have shared, I invite you to be sure that your player is not auto-updating again.
According to the Adobe Flash Player Guide, update options let the user specify whether Flash Player should display a notification when a new version is available, and how frequently to check for new versions. When installing the player on Windows the user selects which option they want:
-Allow Adobe to install updates
-Notify me to install updates
-Never check for updates
Choose "Notify me" to be able to decline an update to Flash Player as you reinstall the Player per our instructions above. Here is a link to that guide.
If you are still having difficulty, you are welcome to reach out to our team directly here.
Any updates from our team will be shared in the documentation referenced above as well as shared in applicable forum threads.
Shall we (who have time) wait for anothe new Flash Player Update. I cannot check the version in Control panel (Win10) nor update it from there. There is only the date and Delete option
Hi Vi! If you prefer to wait on a fix, that is totally up to you. Looks like Edward has a great way of checking within the browser as he shared above. Our documentation can be found here.
Sorry, it looks like you can only install the standalone Flash player on Window 7 and not Win 8 or 10 because its now integrated into Internet Explorer. Microsoft usually only pushes out updates on second Tuesday of the month unless there's a critical security issue. I hope they push this one out sooner. If Microsoft is going to take over pushing out updates from Adobe, they need to be at least as quick at this as Adobe has been.
Thanks Edward for confirming and we're keeping an eye on all those elements too, including when Adobe and/or Microsoft release any additional information. Once we have additional information to share, we'll be certain to update you here as well!
I followed the instructions in the shared link, it worked for awhile. A side effect was when I uninstalled the new version and installed the old version, links in my email (Outlook) stopped working. Reported to my IT support and now Storyline 2 preview isn't working. This is frustrating and taking a great deal of my time and my agencies tech support. Isn't there a quick fix Articluate can share that won't force people to have to uninstall the new Flash version?
Just in. Adobe has updated flash player on December 28th. Follow this link.

I tried the work around by uninstalling the update. It worked for a while, but then went back to not working again. It's very frustrating!
I'm assuming there has been some sort of update on Adobe's end, as when I came in this morning, everything is working fine again. I did not do anything personally, and no roll back was done on any updates.
Hi Danielle!
Are you a Windows 7 user? Looks like an update was provided for that. We have updated our documentation here as well.
Hi Megan!
Be sure that you do not have your system set to auto-update.
Hi Sara!
Yes, a recent update has caused issues that are being shared in this thread. You are welcome to peek through, but my first link in this response will give you the tools needed.
I suppose I missed that post. (There are so many!)
Yes, I have 7, so I guess it makes sense that it works now. xD
Thanks!

What version of Flash is creating this issue? Is it 20.0.0.268? Looks like recent version is 20.0.0.270. Please confirm.
Hi Sara - Per documentation: A bug has been identified in Adobe Flash Player 20.0.0.267
Hi Tim - pop in the forums, and at the top, you'll probably see a little icon that says Subscribed and you can click that to unsubscribe :) It has been a tad crazy.
Apparently, Adobe Flash most current version is 20.0.0.270. Maybe this current version has the fix.
Same thing here, Windows `10 update killed preview mode in Storyline....I just downloaded what I thought was 270 but find it is still 267...just adding this post to get in the loop on this problem...will uninstall 267, find and install 270 for windows 10....
Thanks George - and a good reminder to confirm which update you download and install. We'll keep folks posted here!
Hi Ashley,
I'm following your support departments recommendations to uninstall windows update KB3132372 and "hiding" it from Windows Updates to see what happens....
Ok, I uninstalled the update KB3132372 and downloaded flash again (still 20.0.0.267) which seems to have corrected the problem. I am now able to Preview slides again.
Hi George
How did you install Flash again on windows 10 please? Also, are you using Storyline 1 or 2? (I am using Storyline 1.)
My preview also does not work, but also, my CD output does not run, and gives a error message saying "Launch_Story.exe has stopped working" and goes on to say a problem caused this. Anyone have a similar issue? The HTML output of the same file plays fine! IS this related to the mentioned Flash issue(s)???
Hi Dan,
I believe it is - we have had this also recently reported and because our CD output is based on the Internet Explorer set up, if Flash isn't able to run correctly there it may be interfering with you playing that as well. So far I've only heard that it's an issue on Win 10 - is that the set up you're using?
