Every time I attempt to preview a specific slide, I get the "we're sorry, something went wrong with Articulate Story and it might close". Fortunately it does not close. Preview works on other slides, just not this one. Could it be something in the slide, i.e. it has three layers with each having a number of hotspots that each trigger objects and text to appear and hide. Could the complexity of the slide be too much for Storyline?
Sorry you're running into that error! It does sound like there's something on that slide that could be causing the hiccup.
As a next step, I would copy the slide (to create a backup). Then on the original slide, remove one layer at a time, previewing after you delete each layer.
Once you narrow down which layer is causing the issue, hide the elements on the timeline a few at a time until you've found the culprit.
I know it can feel like looking for a needle in a haystack, so I'm happy to help with that troubleshooting! Simply share the troublesome slide here, and I'll take a closer look. 🔍
Saved the slide as a stand alone slide, but of course it work fine! Will have a go at separating the layers in the original presentation and see if I can isolate the glitch. The slide is attached, but as it seems to work, I'm not sure if it would be useful.
Problem solved, I think. For slides with multiple layers, I usually have a spare layer that I use as a working page for the content of the 'real' layers. Once I deleted that layer the preview slide works fine. Possibly illogical as I have left these spare layers in other slides and this has never happened?
Wow, that's certainly a strange fix--but I'm glad it worked! Like you said, the file you attached worked correctly for me, so I wasn't able to see the error.
Hopefully you won't come across this problem again, but if you do, give me a holler. I'll be here!

G'day Alyssa,
