Print Button not working on Mac Safari
Jan 26, 2017
The print button (to display the test results) works fine with a PC, or a Mac with Chrome or Firefox (not well but you can get it to print) but doesn't do anything when using Safari. I can have the students take a screen capture but the box "Enter name" covers their score. The Enter Name box is not a layer and I don't know how to find it so I can move it to a different location so that a screen shot will display the score. I don't know anything about coding, maybe this will help:
%YourNameForQuiz%
Thanks,
Debbie

Hi Debbie,
That pop up isn't on a layer, it's a generation from the text labels within the player, so although you can edit the text there you won't be able to change the location of the pop up box.
It should work in Safari 7 or later though based on the system requirements for Storyline and in Flash or HTML5. Do you have a link to the course so that we could test it out? What happens in Safari after the user enters their name? Does it not generate the report.html file where you'll see the print results? Do you know if there are any settings within Safari to block pop ups or stop a course from opening another window?
If you can share a link to the course here we can also give it a try and see how it's behaving/or not.
I appreciate your help. The students will access it next week (yikes).

Let me know if you need the articulate file.
Thanks so much,

Hey there, Debbie! I just wanted to add that you'll need to have the latest version of Flash Player installed in Safari. The Print Results feature isn't supported in HTML5 output.
I checked your link, and I was able to generate a print results tab in Safari after taking the quiz...didn't realize how long it had been since I'd practiced citations. :)
Nothing more fun than citations, eh? Thanks for checking. I'll make sure I have the latest Flash Player in Safari when I get home tonight.
Should it also work from an IPhone?
Thanks
Credit where it's due! Unfortunately, you won't be able to print from the iPhone because the mobile version of Safari (or Android device browsers for that matter) only supports HTML5 content--no Flash on the phones. Let us know how you make out with your testing, or if you need more help!
An iPhone will display the HTML5 output, so the print will not work there. You may want to advise iPhone or mobile device users to take a screenshot of the results page. On an iPhone click the home tab and power button at the same time.
Thanks
