Print Quiz questions along with student results?
Oct 12, 2012
Good Morning- I'm new to Storyline. In our organization, we provide customer education and have chosen a blended learning approach. Thus, all participants must complete online pre-work prior to coming to the instructor led portion of the class. In the past, we have had participants bring their completed "workbooks- composed of all quiz questions and their answers" to class and the instructor has worked an activity into the class where they go over the questions. THis has been very popular among instructors and with participants. Yesterday I was asked-
Is there a way for participants to print the quiz questions along with their answers and bring this to class?
Since I have no idea, I thought I'd put the question out to the experts- YOU! Any help and/or insight would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards-
Dianna

Hey Cynthia!
Kind of like paper quiz handouts? You could build your quiz(zes), publish them to Word, then print out the paper copies.
you'd probably want to some editing within Word to get the exact look you'd want, but the framework would be there . You'd also probably want to untick the box for showing layers.
How do I change the print results to show the question text in a PICK ONE question?
Hi Steve!
I just saw this post here. So, you were able to get this solved?
Hi all,
I have a condition whereby, learner need to print their result.
Is there a way to show all options in the print result html file? What I meant is, a column for Questions, a column for the options given, and a column for student answer.
Thanks and regards,
Emalyn
Hi Emalyn!
Sounds like you are wanting to modify the published output, which is not something that we would support.
Will the results slide show answered typed in from a fill in the blank question? I have managers that want to make sure their employees didn't type in gibberish to get past the question but they want the questions to be fill in the blank. Thanks for advance for your help!
Hi Ginger!
This article describes the quiz data that Articulate Storyline communicates to learning management systems (LMSs) for SCORM and AICC content.
I'm attaching an example of some 'print results' as well.
So, yes - the student answer will be included, but not on the results slide.
Thank you Leslie!
Hi Leslie,
My question is similar to Emalyn's, i.e. we don't want to include the correct answers or the learner's answers, just whether they got it right or wrong. We would also like to add another column that informs learners of which sections in the module are relevant to the quiz items. Is it possible for us to customize the printed quiz results? If not, is there another way to set up a trigger to print an external document or is there only one print option for the triggers?
Thanks!
Hi Dimeshea!
Articulate Storyline doesn't support the modification of published output. However, you may be able to modify the report.html file in your published output to make it look like a certificate or create the look you want. Here's how.
Otherwise, hopefully someone in the community will be able to assist you.
Thank you, Leslie!
Of course. Hopefully you will be able to find something that will work well for you in your project.
Hi everyone,
Not too sure whether i am able to get any responses here since it is an old thread. I use a quiz template downloaded online and it is a freeform format. And when i try to print the results, i am not able to see the text of the question. Since freeform do not have the questions box like in the normal form based quizes, is there any workaround for this?
Hi Adeline,
Great question and as you mentioned it's an older thread, so no guarantees other users are still subscribed but as you mentioned since the freeform doesn't have the question text there isn't an automatic way for Storyline to pick it up and place it within the printed results. Folks have shared similar things to edit the results page to include things like a title or additional certificate info so perhaps you could investigate doing the same for your question text. Here is some information on setting up the certificate, so you can begin here. Please note that this isn't something we can offer support for though.
Hello
Can anyone please help me on how to add a print button (separately on the results slide and not from the result slides properties) and also add name, place and date so these can be printed as well?
Thank you so much in advance
Kind regards
Chandrani
