You'll need to test this within the intended publish environment and what you'll see happen is a new html page is generated with the results. It'll then be up to the user to use the print capabilities of their browser, or even save the page as a PDF or html file.
To confirm: For my problem if I were to close out of the preview of the published course, then ftp to course to the LMS and then preview it in the LMS, then I both the print results and finish features should work in that environment? (See attachment for details of my error messages).
Likely yes, as testing content locally can cause you to encounter a number of security restrictions. If you're able to load up to your LMS to test, that's the best course of action to ensure it'll work as expected in the intended environment. If you're not ready to test within your LMS yet, you can also use a site such as SCORM Cloud which is the industry standard for testing LMS content.
Thanks for your quick reply and your confirmation.
Our LMS provider has restricted our ftping of content from the desktops of multiple content authors (such as myself) to only the LMS Sysadmin.
One more thing for him to do, I guess.
Thanks again. Will try that.
