Print result trigger does not work + customize the window

Feb 25, 2014

Hello everybody

I customised the default text on the window of the "Print result" trigger, but I d'like to customize also the window. Do you know if it's possible?

Second problem, when I click on the button (a customized one, not the default button), it open a result window which remains empty, no printing window... I read the module and tried to print with explorer and chrome, it never works...

Many thanks in advance

the print window...

Hi Ashley.

thank you for your answer.

It looks my problem is not clearly detailed

1. I'd like to customise this window (or dialog box, I'm not sure of the english word). It's the window of the "print result of quiz" functionality. It looks like the default feedback layers, and I'd like to change the design. Is it possible ?

I just changed the default text (see below), and I ask if I'm obliged to keep the grey area dialog box, or if I can change it

2. Second problem with the "print result" functionality, when I click on the button "Print result" on the slide result, the dialog box above open, and when I enter my name and click "ok", it opens a blank page titled "Result", nothing more.

It's this page :

The most urgent problem to solve is obviously the second, the first one is not a big deal, it's just a question of design.

Hi Genia,

Sorry for misunderstanding - I thought you were trying to create your own new Results page.

In regards to the pop up box that you're seeing where the user types in their name to print the results, you can modify the text as you've already done and then you can also modify the colors of the box, although this will impact all your pop up boxs (such as resume prompt, invalid answer/no answer box for a quiz, etc.).You'll want to review to this Player color job aid to help you determine which colors you want to change.

For the second issue, it looks like you're testing the course locally? You'll want to publish the course and then test within the intended environment as described here.  If you need a "testing" method, and  you don't have access to a web server, here are a few free options to consider:

  • Tempshare: This is a free service provided by Articulate for testing Storyline content. Note: Uploaded files will be deleted after 10 days.
  • Amazon S3: Amazon S3 offers free hosting with generous usage limits. If you go over your limit, you'll be charged a graduated fee.
  • Dropbox: Place your published output in the Public folder in your Dropbox account to share it with others.
  • Google Drive: Change the story.html file to index.html, and set the sharing permissions to PublicHere's how.

If after testing the published output you're still seeing the odd behavior I'll send you directions on how to share it with me privately.
