Print Results not working in Storyline

Aug 12, 2013

Hi there

I've used a results slide at the end of a quiz in Storyline that allows the user to print results once they have passed.

When looking at the published course the print results button displays when passed then when I click on it , the screen appears allowing you to input your name. I can then type in my name and click OK. However, nothing prints.

The 'allow users to print results' and 'prompt for their name' boxes are checked in the options for the slide.

Is there something else I need to do?

Cheers

Matt

Hi Ashley,

I'd say the problem comes from IE and Edge users in the main, we only get a handful of issues from other browsers, it is becoming an increasing admin burden having to go through reports in Articulate online and sometimes we find the information there doesn't match what the users tells us.  The cynic in me would question the validity of such claims but it's too common an occurrence. Is it possible that having 'in private' browsing and alike activated on a system that this is preventing accurate recording?

Hi Matthew,

I haven't heard of an issue viewing a course in a private or incognito window causing issues with tracking or reporting. Do you find that's how the majority of your users access the courses? Do you only see this with courses hosted on AO? Also, do you know if these users have disabled Flash in those browsers?

Hi,

We don't find that the majority have in private enabled and we are yet to find a user who has disabled Flash, we're just clutching at straws as to why the reporting is so inconsistent

The issue seems to be specific to AO as far as we can see, we seldom get issues with our other platform but the use of that comes at a greater premium.

Hi Alyssa

I am having an issue similar to the others on this stream.  I have a course created in 360 and on my results slide I want the users to be able to print their results.  My course has been published into my LMS and when the course is run in IE 11 (our corporate default browser) you see the option to add your name but then the page show no results.

When the course is opened in Chrome the print function works correctly.

Can you please let me know if there is a fix to this?  Thank you

Crystal Horn

Hi there, Donna.  I tested a mock course from SCORM Cloud (an LMS testing engine) in Internet Explorer version 11.2007.14393.  I was able to get a results page with information.  Can you try here as well?

Also, I'm happy to test your course if you can share it here.  Use the Add Attachment button in the reply window to share your .story file.  Thanks!

Hi all,

It looks like I have got the same issues: the print results button doesn't work properly after publishing for CD.  My client doesn't have an LMS. In Review everything works fine, but not after publishing for CD and testing it locally (USB, laptop, different laptop). The print results button only gives me the pop up to type in the name and then nothing happens.  I have been reading a lot of the comments about printing result slides, but the given solutions like disabling pop up blockers don't work. Has this issue not been solved in 6 years?  Is there an easy work around otherwise? A Google form is not an option either because my client is based in China and I don't have experience with JavaScript.Who can help?

Hi Dianna,

We're seeing an issue in Storyline 3 and Storyline 360 where the Print Results page does not work when published to CD. The web browser opens with a window title Results, but there isn't any content. The web page is completely blank. Does that seem to match what you're seeing?

Also, what version of Storyline are you using?
